Knit in Progress: Trailblazer Scarf

Some of you may recall seeing a sneak peek at my latest project, a Trailblazer scarf  from the Knit Play Colour collection, knit in Cold Spring Creations 2 ply merino sock yarn in the ‘Acorn’ colourway:

My Ravelry project page can be found here. I’m super in love with the yarn, it knits up so well and the colours are absolutely perfect for fall, the sort of colours I crave this time of year:

Is it not just like fall foliage? And the shifts are just like what you see when the leaves turn:

That’s what it looked like when I un-skeined it, to prepare for winding it into a ball. I couldn’t’ resist taking a photo. Total swoon.

What I love about this pattern is that it’s so easy to memorize, and being just one skein, super portable. This has totally become my train knitting, so I’ve been chipping away at it only when in transit and it’s pretty much done! The arc of the crescent is really intuitive and graceful, and I love how the texture mimics the look of fall leaves on the trees.  Just a bit more on the the final end, and then a good wet blocking will be in order!

Perfect for fall indeed! Those are some of my favorite colors.

I love this colorway so much! That’s going to be such a great piece, and I can totally see it going with a lot of outfits 🙂

Love the colour and the pattern. And I love seeing a tiny glimpse of your bump 🙂

  4. And it so perfectly pairs with your bag! You must be the envy of all your fellow train passengers. I know I would be swooning and skootching next to you to chat and make train friends.

I love the fall colourway. Your shawl is coming out great. I’m going to have to reread KPC. I may be inspired to frog a shawl that’s been hibernating and cast on something else.

Very pretty! Knitting in transit is such a great way to get things done, especially with an easy to memorize pattern. You are going to wear this scarf a lot if it is as cold in Toronto as it is in Montreal. My fall cowls and scarves are back in rotation.

Those colours are just spot on for autumn, I can see why you adore this yarn so much.

I absolutely love the colours. Autumn is such a pretty time of the year and you’ll be able to enjoy it throughout the winter! Keep up the great work 😉

Oh these colors are fabulous! I’ve never really been a fan of Autumn, until now – so many “Autumn” colors of yarn have so many different oranges in them! Seeing that orange is my favorite color, I should have liked this season well before now – just never made the connection, ha! The pattern looks lovely – simple yet interesting enough to not just be doing the same thing all the time, which is always nice 🙂

Just beautiful! I’m completely swooning over those colors. Cannot wait to see your gorgeous finished scarf.

It’s beautiful! One skein knits are the best
