Modification Monday: Chrysanths Set

Original Patterns: Chrysanthemum Jacket and Chrysantheme

Knitter Extraordinaire: Some (Ravelry ID

Mods:  Using the Jacket and double knitted scarf patterns as the basis for her design, Some used the great flowers charts of both to make her hat and matching cowl in laceweight yarn. Details and lots more photos can be found on her project page, here

What Makes This Awesome:  I’m so impressed with this amazing stranded design that Some has used for her hat and cowl!   love how graphic the flowers look in the black and white, and adjusting the gauge to get it all to work. She even originally planned on incorporating another pattern (a hat pattern, you can check it out on her project page), but didn’t quite like how the crown was coming out, so ripped it back and went her own way.  She even worked all this colourwork in laceweight yarn! The set is a gift for a friend, I bet she will get loads of compliments all winter long in this set.

how beautiful!! and though my knitting skills are quite limited (I still havent managed to complete one sweater, I’m stuck on scarves, shawls, fingerless gloves – basically things not requiring a lot of fitting), one skill I’ve proudly mastered is double knitting – I love this pattern! And I love that she did it with laceweight yarn – light yet warm. :)
