Original Patterns:Hitofude Cardigan and Sweet Dreams Shawl

Knitter Extraordinaire: Susan (Ravelry ID, blog)

Mods: Using the lace details from the shawl, Susan revamped the original cardigan to feature the lace of the shawl.  Details can be found on her blog, here.

What Makes This Awesome: Talk about an amazing cardigan! lacy cardigans seem so perfect for summer, and a great way to dress up an outfit.  Susan’s clever adaptation of the shawl lace into the cardigan was challenging, because it was not as simple as swapping out one lace chart for another. She had to find ways to work around the shaping, by adding to the lace pattern on the fronts rather than in the original cardigan’s body.  The result? Quite possibly the prettiest cardigan I’ve ever seen!

I love the original Hito cardigan but love the modified cardigan more! The Rainey Sisters are amazing knitters. Don’t know if I dare tackle this gorgeous mod.
