Modification Monday: Freakin’ Foxtastic

Modification Monday: Foxtastic |

Original Patterns: Fox in the Snow Mittens and Baby Sophisticate

Knitter Extraordinaire: Laura (Ravelry ID)

Mods: Using the shaping of Baby Sophisticate for shaping, Laura changed the pattern to be worked in fingering weight, so she could use the charming fox charts from the mitten pattern. Project page can be found here.

What Makes This Awesome: I have a thing for foxes to begin with, but this pattern is amazing for so much  more than that- changing the weight to fingering and using the classic Baby Sophisticate pattern opens up so many ideas for paying with colourwork. I especially love the bright pop of lime stripes in between the fox heads, it adds a nice modern bit of bright to this sweater. I absolutely love the result, and want one just like it in my size!

Wow, that’s so adorable. I love fox print too, is it bad that I want one my size?

Thanks for featuring my little fox sweater! I just knew I had to knit a fox sweater for this little baby (and his Mama) and am so happy that there was a perfect fox chart from the mitten pattern available for me to use. I love knitting baby sweaters; there is so much room for creativity!
