Modification Monday: Peplum Sweater

peplum sweater

Original Pattern: Water’s Edge Cardigan

Knitter Extraordinaire:  B (Ravelry ID

Mods: Changed the original 3/4 sleeved cropped cardigan to a long sleeved pullover, with a longer body with waist decreases, scoop neck, and lighter gauge. Project page can be found here

What Makes This Awesome:  The revamped proportions of B’s peplum sweater are so chic and spot on- the longer length of the sleeves and body work really well, and the scoop neck seems like the perfect neckline with a peplum hem- the round shape echoes the round flounce of the peplum. The result is a drop-dead gorgeous sweater- very wearable, very flattering and oh-so-chic. I am normally not into peplums, but I would wear this sweater any day of the week, no question. It’s beautiful!

Wow! Great modification – it’s cute and classic at the same time. I love the color yarn she chose too – I would wear this all the time!

This alteration to the original cardigan is just fabulous and I much prefer the sweater version the peplum works beautifully! I may have to make myself one if these! Gorgeous x
