Modification Monday: Polar Prism Cardigan

cardi

Original Pattern: Girl on Fire

Knitter Extraordinaire: Jennifer (Ravelry ID

Mods: Turned a sold colour pullover with front lace panel into a gorgeous colourwork cardigan with a different neckline. Great details on the mods can be found on her project page, here

What Makes This Awesome: I love how Jennifer took the key characteristics of a pattern she loved (top down, set in sleeve method) and modified it heavily to get a new look out of it with this amazing colourwork cardigan. I especially love the very light grey with the bright hits of citrus shades, and colour blocked stripe effect. She handled the shaping beautifully, and the whole effect is a home run!

Oh wow, looks amazing! I love the bright pops of colour as well, very spring. I feel like we need all the bright colours we can get after this winter!

So happy you’re showcasing Jennifer, she is truly a Knitter Extraordinaire. Since this spectacular cardigan, she’s made two other fabulous sweaters. Check her project pages and you will be amazed at her skills. She is one to watch as a future designer.

This really is awesome! Love the contrast between the main colour and the cc picked. What fun and so cheery!

This sweater is incredible! What a beautiful piece. If I made something like this, I would vow to never, ever gain weight for fear that by beloved creation wouldn’t fit.
