Modification Monday: Rocky Z.

Original Pattern: Rockefeller

Knitter Extraordinaire: Laura Ann (Ravelry ID

Mods:  Transformed the striped shawl pattern into a round yoke pullover sweater. More information can be found on her project page, here

What Makes This Awesome: I’m crazy impressed with Laura’s amazing sweater. The original shawl design features dynamic stripes both horizontally and vertically, and I love how Laura incorporated the elements into her bright, beautiful pullover. The vertical stripes on the round yoke  look fantastic, and the horizontal stripes at the waist add definition and great detailing. And the hem of the sweater is the same as on the shawl! I love this creative re imagining, and the bright colours are so cheery for dull winter days.

This mod is awesome! First of all, a shawl to a sweater is kinda major, but the way she worked in each element to create this perfect interpretation is mind blowing. I think I maybe like the hem the best.

I’m also crazy about this mod, especially the waist details! And the new blog looks great!

That is amazing. I find a lot of Stephen Wests patterns really cool, but I just don’t need that many shawls (plus I’m concerned about what they’d look like on the back). But turn them into sweaters? Brilliant.
