Your drunk self may actually be the real you.

Apparently Amazon has just unveiled Alexa for kids- which is sweet and sad and kind of nuts.

The second I saw this dish, memories of living in Istanbul came flooding back to me. I used to make a variation of this dish ALL the time when I was  living there, a million years ago. Fresh fruit and vegetables were everywhere and very cheap, and I always had lots of fresh spinach and tomatoes on hand. This is really easy to make, and really delicious- I skipped the sun dried tomatoes, I think it tastes more summery without them. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe is here.

3 ingredient nutella cookies- really! nutella, eggs, and flour (chocolate chips optional, but I recommend) are all you need to pull these tasty goodies together in no time. If Nutella is always in your cupboard (can’t just be me, right?) then you are minutes away from these cookies. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe can be found here.

Easy High Protein waffles recipes- for real! I love waffles, but find that they just don’t keep me going. But this recipe has lots 21 grams of protein per waffle, thanks to egg whites and low fat cottage cheese.  You just through all your ingredients into the blender, blend for a second, and then pour into your waffle iron. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe is here.

Got a band t-shirt that you love, but when you got it they only had the men’s size large left, and it just…. doesn’t work? You are a quick refashion away from a much more feminine version of the shirt, my friends. This tutorial walks you through the steps to transform any men’s style t shirt into something that fits better and is a bit more feminine.  Pinterest link is here, and the original DIY post has all the steps here.

Tin Can Knits just dropped the sweetest little bonnet pattern! If you know of any little ones that would be even cuter in a bonnet (which is every baby, let’s be honest) it’s worth checking out- especially because the sizing goes all the way to adult sizes. because hey, you’d probably look cute in a bonnet comes fall, too. Pinterest link is here, full details on the pattern and link to purchase can be found here.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone! Saturday is supposed to be beautiful here, I’m looking forward to getting on a patio for the first time this season. Isn’t patio season the best?!

I’ve long held that people don’t say things when drunk that they don’t think while sober, so cool that at least some research would seem to support that theory.

Alexa for kids is seriously creepy, particularly for the long-term implications.

I’ve always found the cash thing interesting. It might be different for me if I tried to switch to as close to 100% cash as possible (although wildly inconvenient, since I don’t have any branches of my bank anywhere particularly useful for most of the places I spend my time), but I find that anytime I do have cash, I tend to think of it as already spent, so it doesn’t matter what I actually spend it on. Since it’s already out of my account, I feel almost like buying stuff with it is getting it for free. Money I spend via debit, I actually give at least *some* more thought to whether I actually need whatever I’m buying or should be spending that money.

Stop tempting me with Nutella!!! OK, Alexa for kids, no way! Who in their right mind would let Big Brother in, more than it already is? And if my drunk self is the real me, then I’m a jolly amusing girl.
    You made my day, thanks.
    Have a great week-end Julie.

I have been working without a card for many years now because I have no control….so….no card. I get along just great. I have a lot of ways to do without and still get patterns and other stuff on my own. I have no idea who Alexa is but it sounds weird. Love the emails. Linda

It is a cute bonnet pattern. However, I really like your bonnet pattern called Lilacs for Lila… the lacework is so pretty.

Alexa freaks me out. Alexa for Kids is just ridiculous. At best it could be lazy parenting, especially if parents have no idea what they are saying to each other. At worst it’s Big Brother in the house (as someone stated above). Have you seen that commercial that shows the possible future of AI in a child interacting with an animatronic monkey that turns out to be voiced by their long-distance grandmother? I mean, it sounds sweet an innocent, but I just see that getting taken to another level- perhaps a new episode of Black Mirror will cover it?
As always your links have got me thinking. Thanks again and take good care!
