Did you know that the Danish have a tv show called The Great Knit Off?! Amazing!!! Don’t worry, there are English subtitles.

As if it were possible to love Tom Hiddleston more. He’s so earnest!

This video was absolutely fascinating – it’s a camera and microphone set up at a ten meter high diving platform, and it records the people who climb it to dive off or let their fear get the best of them and climb back down. It was so compelling! I couldn’t always guess who would and wouldn’t make the jump.

How to reduce your anxiety about the news. Some excellent tips here.

My Favourite Pins This Week

Creamy tortellini with sweet potatoes and spinach- because winter demands comfort food! And with all those veggies, it’s actually good for you. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

This cake makes me want to eat the screen. A London Fog is a latte made with earl grey tea, and this is the cake version! It’s like all my favourite things combined into cake form. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post can be found here.

Is it my birthday yet? Because I want this for my birthday. Prosecco poured over pink ice cream. It’s just an Instagram, but really, what more recipe do you need? Ice cream in wine glass. pour prosecco. Try not to inhale in one gulp. Pinterest link is here, and the original photo source is here.

I love embroidery on clothes, and this french knot gradient on the tank top looks so lovely. Talk about a beautiful way to upcycle a plain tank or tee! I think if you started now, you would definitely be ready for summer. Pinterest link is here, original source is here.

I am in love with this artist’s Instagram account. this nighttime bunny is one of my faves. Every time she sells anything in her shop it goes like hot cakes, but I’m hoping she restocks her shop soon and I can claim this bunny print for my very own! Pinterest link is here, original source is here.

Oh my goodness, I adore Tom Hiddleston! The man is incredible… and incredibly gorgeous.

On a less shallow note (or maybe not), that cake looks pretty amazing. I didn’t know Earl Grey lattes were a thing and in cake form they sound very delicious.

Loooovveee that french knot tank – but you’re right, to get that completed by summer, better start now!

Curses to you Julie! I have to work all day on my computer and had to force myself to turn off the knitting show – I know what I am watching the next time I want to procrastinate!!!How are the socks progressing?!!!

      Hi Heather,
No sock progress yet! I think it will be a while- I need to make a foot model, and I’m doing some deadline knitting at the moment, sadly nothing I can really blog about! 😉

Thank you for sharing that high dive video! it’s so compelling. I was thinking as I watched it that it would make a really fascinating play–just watching actors in their bathing suits, facing the audience, talk their way through this decision. Hmmm…

Oh, the Ti-shirt makeover is just genius – want to try it someday. I did some beading classes way back at school, I should remember how to handle them. Have a wonderful long weekend with your family!

Thank you so much for the link to the article about media perspective. I can’t tell you how much I needed to read that right now. The key messages being: 1) shift media sources to ones that offer analysis, distance and perspective so that you don’t make yourself crazy with minute by minute reporting, and 2)put energy into creating things. I’m going to implement #1 so I can get on with #2!

A knitting show! A London Fog cake! Am I glad I have off on monday! Thanks Julie 🙂

That diving video really was fun. I usually pass on videos, but the comment that it might make an interesting play intrigued my thespian heart enough to watch it, and it was really interesting. I totally found myself rooting for them all, too, encouraging them out loud to go for it. That last chick they showed in slow motion, though? She may not have done a 10-m before, but she’s clearly a diver, because that was one very nicely executed dive.

Also, I’m forever thinking that I should try a bubbly float, as I love both ice cream and bubbly, and have them both fairly frequently. But I never seem to have both in the house at the same time. Really must remedy that sometime.

I could only find one episode of the great knit off that had English subtitles. Have you found more? What fun!

    • Julie   •     Author

Oh no, There used to be more! If you go to You Tube, you can search for The Great Knit Off English Subtitles and pull the episodes, but they aren’t properly collected as the whole seasons in a way that would make sense. But you can find them!
