My Favourite Pins This Week

I’m quite a fan of cauliflower, it’s such an easy way to get more veggies. These cauliflower and quinoa bites are surprisingly easy and don’t take a lot of ingredients- and they are delicious! Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Grilled pound cake and peaches! If you love all things barbecue, it’s worth a late season treat like this. And you haven’t lived until you’ve had grilled pound cake, it’s so much better than I would have thought. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Have you got a stockpile of plastic bags? Me too. What about making ‘plarn’, plastic yarn? Perfect for turning into sturdy knitted or crocheted tote bags. Talk about recycling! Pinterest link is here, and the original tutorial can be found here.

I have mixed feelings about the gigantic shawl trend (I’m a small person, lots of fabric makes me look like a child playing dress up), but this Cliquant Shawl is pretty compelling- I love the simple shape and design, it seems flattering and easier to wear than some of the more colourful versions I’ve seen. What do you think? Pinterest link is here, and the original Ravelry pattern page is here.

Have you been feeling a little down? It happens from time to time for all of us. Here are 101 great ideas for cheering yourself up, should you need it. Pinterest link is here, and the original list is here.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone! It is going to be a scorcher here, so I’ll  be making sure the kiddos get lots of splash pad time at the park. See you Monday!

What a fun and original list of ways to cheer up! Ancient Greek comedy and surprise gifts on the sidewalk! Just reading the list made me considerably more smiley 🙂

Lots of great ideas, as usual.

Passed the ‘How to Fool Yourself Awake’ onto some who might find it useful.

I ‘did’ Catullus as part of a Latin ‘O’ Level (aged 15-16). I still remember some of the lines. Though these days it’s more a case of looking a a piece and thinking, ‘Yes, that’s Latin’ rather than actually reading it!

A Tip – if you cut the plastic carrier bags in a spiral, to give you one long piece, you’ll have to make fewer joins. Of course, you’ll have to balance the extra cutting time against that.

And thanks for the money saving tip, though I do a lot of them anyhow.

That cat train is just the cutest thing! It’s happiness therapy for both humans and kitties:)
