Have you seen the super cute baby and toddler collection that just came out from Tanis Fiber Arts? It’s called Lucky Penny Baby:
Clockwise from top left:
The Schoolboy Vest isn’t just for clever-looking babies! It works great in a variety of colours, and is great for keeping little ones warm while letting them have full range of movement in their arms. Plus, it adds a lot of style to a onesie and pants, don’t you think?
The R&R Hoodie is classic and versatile- any colour would work, and Tanis even experimented with adding some great scalloped stripes in a previous test of it. I love the little pockets, and the zipper means it’s easy to do up when you’ve got a busy baby on the go.
The Frosted Alpine Hat is perfect for the little ones. The ties keep grabby hands from pulling it off, and the pixellated colours allow for a lot of creativity in how you want to colour your hat- great for stash busting, too! Click here to see an adorable white, pink and red version for a little girl. And a bonus- you could knit a matching one for the grown ups, too! The pattern includes adult sizing.
The Keyfit baby blanket is a knockout- the bright angles are modern and eye-catching, and I love the high-impact of this design. Babies don’t outgrow baby blanket very quickly, and they are automatically treasured keepsakes for years to come, perhaps even passed down to the baby’s future baby of his/her own. I especially love that the triangles are knit separately, so they would be great little pieces to tote around in your purse, to knit a little whenever you get the chance. A portable project like this gets finished a lot faster than you’d think.
What I love most about the collection is that all the pieces are incredibly useful, incredibly flexible, and perfect for boys of girls. And for someone like me with a (nearly!) two year old, I was really excited to see that the size range goes up to 4 years old. Nice to have that big of an age range, and definitely gives you a bit more bang for your buck.
Would you like to win the pattern collection for the Lucky Penny Baby e-book? I bet you would. But why stop there- would you also like to win a palette collection of your choice to knit these awesome patterns with? Heck yes!!
Check out the beautiful palettes on Tanis Fiber Arts, and leave me a comment letting me know a) which palette you would choose to knit this collection with, and b) which pattern you would cast on first , and c) your contact info- either your Ravelry ID or an email address where you can be reached. One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win both the pattern e-book and a palette collection of their choice! Contest closes midnight April 3rd (Eastern Daylight Savings Time), and the winner will be announced on the blog on Friday, April 4th.
