My Favourite Pins This Week

This broccoli, cheddar, chicken and rice casserole is soooooo delicious and perfect for cold weather dinners. Casseroles are awesome, guys! I never make them so when I do, I’m always impressed by how amazing they really are. It’s basically comfort food in an oven dish, and ideal for weekends- it freezes well, too! But honestly, if you live with a few other people, you’ll probably get through this dish really quickly. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe can be found over here.

Sweet, salty, not a lot of ingredients, perfect for snacking- and there’s a lot of healthy stuff in here so you won’t feel like it’s a terrible indulgence. It will just be a really satisfying sweet treat of a square or two. Or three. Oops, now the whole pan is empty! Guess you’ll just have to make another batch? Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe is here.

Have you ever grown your own sprouts? It’s a lot easier than you’d think, and would be a fun thing to try this January. This is a really cute DIY for turning plain bowls into sweet little sprout cups, along with the full how-to for growing your own sprouts – watercress is used in this example here, but would also work well with pea shoots (which I love and think are super delicious!). Pinterest link is here, and the full DIY is here.

Feel like knititng some nice, easy socks? Either because you are just learning or you need a nice palate cleansing pattern that your brain doesn’t need to stress over? Then these wonderful socks from Tin Can Knits are just the ticket. Rye Light are a fingering weight sock, free pattern, ranging in size from kid to adult. Making these socks is a pretty solid life choice, really. And they would be so pretty in a tonal or a variagated yarn, too! Pinterest link is here, and you can access the free pattern here.

These crocheted succulents are so pretty! It’s a free pattern with instructions on how to tint the tips of the leaves for the colour shading, which is such a great detail that really adds the final touch. Imagine a little bowl or box of these! So pretty. Pinterest link is here, and the free crochet pattern is over here.
Well, what a week, right everyone? I’m ready to take it easy this weekend. Here’s to recharging our batteries, and making time for the things we love.
