I’ve got a couple of special things coming up, and I’d love for you to consider them! I’m teaching an online workshop on September 9th on how to embroider your knits- it starts from the very beginning, and no embroidery experience is necessary. It’s online, too! Knitted swatches are great for practicing on, by the way. Find the info here!
Also, I will be in-person at the KW Knitters Fair in Kitchener-Waterloo (Ontario) the following day, Saturday September 10th. I’ll be the speaker for the event, talking all about how to use embroidery to upgrade your knits. I will also have a booth! I’ll be selling kits, and the stick and stitch packs, and mugs… all sorts of things! My mom will be there to help me, too. 🙂 If you are planning on attending the fair, please stop by and say hi!

I love making ‘rainbow rice’, fried rice dishes that have a lot of colour. The kids love them, Guy and I add hot sauce to ours, everybody is happy. This is a wonderful sweet and salty version with the addition of pineapple! The recipe is vegan – and I do try to eat more vegetarian and vegan dishes when its fairly easy to do so- but you could also through some left over chicken in this as well. No judgement! Find the recipe here, and enjoy your new healthy ‘take out’.

Aren’t these blue cookies showstopping?! They get their colour from blackberries in the batter, all natural and no artificial colouring! Pretty cool, right? Check out the recipe- they look really easy, and I’m planning on making them next week when we are renting a cottage. Find the recipe here.

I came across this wonderful free pattern for a scrappy little sausage dog and I was completely charmed. Wouldn’t this be a super cute desk buddy, or key ring, or backpack charm, or just a fun, whimsical shelf decoration? Or a Holiday decoration! Anyway, I clearly can think of a bunch of things to do with this stashbusting treasure of a pattern. Find it on Ravelry for free, here.

I love this great way to make your own citronella candles out of halved lemons! I also think this would be a fun craft activity to do with friends, and split the supplies, and then everyone goes home with their candles. I bet these smell amazing! DIY can be found here.

I love this. a good reminder to just be who you are. My daughter Lila, who is really into DJing, archery and bats, reminds me that being into your weird stuff is actually incredibly awesome and makes you fascinating. Via Pinterest.
We are going to be spending a week at a cottage next week, so I will be back the last week of August! Have a wonderful, sunny weekend!
