The wonderful Kelly recently asked me to share which newsletters I subscribe to, because she loves the links I share! I actually read and enjoy a LOT of newsletters, so here are some of my faves if you are looking to fill your inbox with wisdom, fun, and thoughtfulness. They all have free versions (I’m often the subscriber of the free versions) so definitely try them out and see if they resonate with you the way they resonate with me.
Oh, and if you ever want to make a request of things you’d like to see here, please tell me! Email or comment- I read them all!
The links below take you to the newsletter sign up pages (often waaaay down at the bottom of the page), I recommend you read a sample first to see if it’s something you might like. Although all of these are here because they resonate with me, and maybe they’ll resonate with you, too.
A note- none of these are the knitting newsletters I follow. I assume you all follow plenty of those!

Illustration Inspiration
Paper Raven Co. (newsletter sign up at bottom of page, scroll down)
I have long admired Paper Raven’s designs, and I keep thinking I’ll work up the courage to reach out and see about collaborating on an embroidery kit, but I haven’t yet! Her design style just soothes my soul and I love seeing her illustrations. Maybe you’ll find them inspiring, too.
Hebe Studio (at the veeeery bottom of the page, in the footer on the right, is the newsletter sign up box!)
This is an artist I’ve long admired, and I really want to get one of her paint-by-numbers one day! Her colour palettes and style feel like a vacation for my eyeballs, and I want everything. Her colour palettes are dreamy.
So Much Wisdom About Life
The Imperfectionist, by Oliver Burkeman
Oliver Burkeman is most famous for his bestselling book, Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals, which is easily one of the best books about how to focus on what is truly important to you when there is SO MUCH. His newsletter is usually a mini essay on some observations about life, and I make a point of opening up his newsletter when I have the time and the brain bandwidth to sit with something that makes me think a little deeper.
If you love links, then this is the newsletter for you! So many great links and reads, and often recipes, too. I really love the links she shares, even if I don’t always get to read them all because I don’t have subscriptions to the Atlantic.
This newsletter is a selection of quotes that inspire me to think a little deeper about a variety of things related to work and life. Very conveniently, they have an archive of all previous newsletters here, so you can have a nice wander through and decide if it’s something you’d like to see in your inbox from time to time.
3-2-1 Thursday, by James Clear
I love the quotes to ponder, both by James Clear and by the many others he rounds up. When the right quote finds me at the right time, I turn it over in my mind for days.
I have loved this newsletter for a while, it’s so lovely to ponder new ways of looking at the world around us, and noticing more and more. The link lets you see lots of samples which gives you a good idea of the small pleasures that make up this newsletter.
Bookish Delights
Modern Mrs. Darcy (scroll to bottom for newsletter sign up, I subscribe to the 2nd option)
This isn’t exactly a newsletter per se, but I subscribe to Modern Mrs Darcy’s blog posts, and if you love my Friday posts (which I’m experimenting with moving to a different day of the week, we’ll see) and you like to read, then you’ll really like her Friday posts, too!
Books and Films! Books and TV series! I’ll never manage to consume even a small portion of all the excellent recommendations, but it is very helpful for reading about and figuring out what I might want to read/watch next.
Everything In Between
Slow & Steady Studio (scroll to the very bottom for the newsletter sign up)
This is an ideal newsletter for you if you have a small business and find hustle culture overwhelming. I worked with Amanda earlier this year, but how I got there was by signing up to her wonderful email that felt really useful and calming, and shared great links that felt like exactly what I needed.
I have been a longtime fan of Gala Darling, her EFT tapping is excellent for when I feel stressed or anxious, and her zest for life is so darn refreshing! She is like a super glamorous, wildly extroverted, confident friend that makes you feel valued, loved, and then takes you on an adventure. I have never met her and yet she has helped cheer me up for years. And she shares great links in her newsletters that I would never have found on my own!
The Steal Like an Artist author has one of my favourite newsletter vibes ever. He writes about life, making collages and art, music, and artists, in a way that feels like you’re getting an email from a cool, down-to-earth friend who’s just telling what they are super into these days. All positive vibes. I wish he and his family were my next door neighbours, you know what I mean?
You know what’s funny- thinking through all of these to put together this list has me thinking about doing my own newsletter with more of these sorts of elements! That sounds like a good project for the new year. 🙂
