While the test knitting stage was happening with Solaria, I cast on for it again to make sure that I had knit any of the changes as well, and to double check things like the math…I think that every high school math class should have a section where they teach the kids to knit and then have them do calculations for things like sizing and evenly spaced decreases/increases. Seeing some very practical application of math like that would have been very inspiring to 15-year old me, that’s for sure.  But then again, I also think they should teach geometry by having people play pool. It’s nothing but how to solve problems involving multiple angles. But I digress….

Notes: Needles with nice, pointy tiips make the nupps SO much easier. This is the kind of knit that I’ve been gravitating towards lately- ones that have an interesting enough lace to keep me on my toes when knitting it. I can memorized the stitches in the rounds, but it’s the kind of knitting  you need to look at, which I enjoy in the summer when I’m watching less tv and spending more knitting time al fresco. The blues and greens in this remind me so much of sea glass.
