My Favourite Pins This Week

As someone who loves recipes that aren’t really about cooking, These antipasto skewers are perfect to bring to a party, serve at a gathering, or just make for a snack or dinner when its too bloody hot to cook. And you can completely customize so you only use your favourite things! But remember- colour is important, you want enough visual variety so that they aren’t just white cheese and meat, which, while tasty, tends to be mighty blah to the eye. Pinterest link is here, and the full ‘recipe’ can be found here.

But if it isn’t too hot to turn your oven on (hi central air conditioning, you sure are gorgeous!), might I suggest these nutty brownies? I could say something about the vitamins and minerals found in diverse nuts and apparently cashews are good for combating depression, but really nuts and chocolate are SO good together. The sweet, the crunchy, the nutty- it’s delicious. Pinterest link is here and the full recipe is here.

If you have been growing fresh thyme in a pot or in your garden, might I suggest a summer cocktail of orange & thyme gin & tonics? light refreshing, citrus and herbs tend to work together really, really well. Not a cocktail person? orange and thyme are also delicious muddled in a glass with sparkling water. Pinterest link is here, and the cocktail- how-to is here.

I’m super in love with the Lydia Lace Tank, and I think I’ll be casting on for one soon- I plan on making a few modifications (I’ve had two kids, I’m beyond the ‘go braless’ stage of my life), but it looks so cute and perfect for this HOT HOT HOT summer we’ve been having. Pinterest link is here, Ravelry pattern page is right here.

This floral paper is not my fave, but this DIY picture frame nightlight is a beautiful idea and completely customizable depending on the paper you use. And it looks so easy, too! Pinterest link is here, full DIY can be found here.
It’s hard to believe that we are brushing up against the middle of July- I know summer goes quickly, but it definitely seems to be moving fast! This weekend we are checking out a lights festival with the kids this weekend, and I hope it goes well- It’s either going to be incredibly magical or a total kids-crying meltdown disaster. Maybe a little of both? I’ll share some photos on Instagram over the weekend!
Have a great couple of days, I’ll see you on Monday – for Modification Mondays, of course!
