A fascinating long read on how challenging it is to define friendships that are so special and important, they are more central than any marriage or romantic relationship. I spent a long time thinking about this after I read it.

A wonderfully delicious winter dinner idea, this chicken with garlic parmesan rice. I am a veggie lover, so I’m big on adding a log of veg to the rice – chopped onions, bell peppers and spinach are nice additions, because we all need more veg in our lives! And bonus- this is so yummy. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe can be found here.

Does anyone else think pears are completely underrated as an amazingly delicious dessert? I certainly do, and if you aren’t sure, I suggest you try this poached pears recipe. Who’s making an incredible dessert that happens to focus on a beautiful seasonal fruit? You are. And you’re a rockstar for it. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe is right here.

How cute is this ‘Halloween’ hot chocolate idea?! Food-safe markers for drawing little ghost faces on the marshmallows, and you have a great excuse to have hot chocolate tonight and tomorrow! I mean, you don’t need an excuse, but come on- how cute is this?! You could also use a fine-tipped paintbrush and food colouring, too. Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe post is here.

All those leaves all over the place would be amazing clay craft ideas, like this pretty maple leaf trinket dish! Any type of leaf would work, and you could paint them with a vairety of different metallic finishes, or a plain white would be really elegant. A fun, beautiful craft that is perfect for this time of your. Pinterest link is here, and the full DIY is here.

This is a really great post all about upcycling old sweaters – a perfect solution for sweatshirts and store-bought sweaters that you’d like to repurpose. I especially like how this maximizes how many items you can get out of a garment, and about sizing! A really clever tutorial with great info about customizing sizing that I highly recommend. It’s a busy weekend around here – Halloween with the kids! Given these Covid times, I’m making an effort to bring a lot of fun to it at home – I’m doing a halloween candy hunt around the house (like an easter egg hunt, but in costumes and with halloween candy!), and they are trick or treating at our front door, so they can still stand outside in the cold and yell trick or treat, because I think that’s the fun bit for the kids. Then we are doing some little candy bundles for their friends and dropping them off at a safe distance. I’ll be posting photos of our decorations and the kids in their costumes on my instagram stories on Saturday night, if you’d like to see!
Wishing you all a safe and cozy Halloween weekend.
