Original Pattern: Amande Tee
Knitter Extraordinaire: Revi (Ravelry ID)
Mods: Kept the stripes going around the back of neck for bigger impact, reduced neckline depth, and continued the sleeve striping the entire length of the sleeves. For more great details on her mods, check out her project page, here.
What Makes This Awesome: The original design has a lot of clever elements around the shoulders and back of neck, but Revi really kept the magic going with her modifications. As a knitter, I find the shaping to be absolutely fascinating, and the striping itself invites you to look closer- there are subtle purl rounds in there, as well. The texture completely enhances the stripes, which are the magic of this mod. Think of other striped sweater pattern you have seen- are there ways you could add more stripes to the upper body (or conversely, the lower body) that would suit a particular pattern? What about looking at the yoke in a whole new way, with the shaping that this pattern has?
I hope you are feeling as inspired as I am, after seeing this gorgeous sweater!
