It’s getting chilly, and mitten weather is almost upon us- or depending on where you live, definitely up you! So this Modification Monday might get you inspired to think of some awesome mitten mods to knit this winter. Like mashing two different designs into one, like these adorable mittens:

Original Patterns: Fiddlehead Mittens and Baa-ble Hat
Knitter Extraordinaire: Debbie (Ravelry ID)
Mods: Using the hat chart for the design and the mitten pattern for the base and structure, Debbie combined two patterns for these awesome mittens. Project page can be found here.
What Makes This Awesome: You guys know how much I love it when knitters combine patterns! I love how adaptable the sheep chart is from the Baa-ble hat, and it looks fantastic reinterpreted into these grown up mittens based off of the Fiddlehead mitten pattern for structure. The colours are bright and cheerful and so nice for winter, and I love how Debbie carried the divide of land and sky onto the thumb, it looks great. These would be amazing as part of a matching set with the hat, or great on their own- lot of fun colour combinations can make these bright and fun, light and neutral, or dark and moody. The same pattern can have so many different looks.
