Modification Monday:Scribble Lace Poncho

Original Pattern: Scribble Lace Stole

Knitter Extraordinaire: Anet (Ravelry ID, website)

Mods: Made a stole twice as long as the width and crochet the edges together, leaving an opening for the neck. Full details on the project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome:  I love the simpicity of this- the laceweight really highlights the sheen of the bulky weight yarn, and would be perfect for showcasing a really special skein.Would you believe that in two years of Mod Mondays, this is the first modification turning a stole into a poncho? Anet’s notes on how she did it make it sound like you could do make a perfect poncho like this with any stole, with a bit of planning. I love her crocheted picot edging, it’s a lovely detail. And her daughter (photos) looks great modelling the sunny yellow!
