Pin Ups and Link Love: My Favourite Things This Week

I loved this list of 21 books to read when you need a laugh. I’ve read several of them, and then found some more I’m going to reserve at my local library!

Thanks to Susan for this great link- a woman set about to live her life according to Pinterest for a week, with some very mixed results. I laughed, I nodded in agreement, and now I want to try the scotch tape/winged eyeliner thing.

I’m a little late to the party with this one, but did you guys see this hilarious photo series of famous photos, recreated with John Malkovich?

I found this blog post on The Craft Sessions about Motherhood and the need for personal creativity so moving, honest, and accurate. Any fellow mamas out there will likely be nodding their heads in agreement.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Marshmallow Cats | knittedbliss.com

The second I saw these, I was instantly obsessed. Sometime this weekend I’m gettings some edible markers and some lollipop sticks, and making these. I’ll pretend they are for Lila, but really, I’ll be making them for myself. Pinterest link is here, and the original post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Coffee Lemonade| knittedbliss.com

Okay, have you guys heard about iced coffee lemonade? It’s a real thing, and apparently it’s utterly delicious, and even ahs tonic water?! I’m so intrigued. I really want to try it, maybe this is the weekend I’ll give it a whirl- it’s supposed to be hot here! Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Veggie Fritters | knittedbliss.com

Sweet potato and zucchini fritters- baked! Normally fritters are fried (and so freaking delicious), but this version has loads of veg and you bake them in the oven. Easy, delicious, and veggie-tastic. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Knitted Rainbow Blanket | knittedbliss.com

I know it’s just a garter stitch striped blanket, but I’m loving this rainbow blanket on a simple white bed. Rainbow anything always looks fun, and squishy garter never goes out of style. Pinterest link is here, and the original post (with the free pattern) is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: DIY rainbow backpack | knittedbliss.com

I love the watercolour effect on this backpack, and it’s all achieved with fabric markers and a spray bottle of water. Such a pretty effect! Pinterest link is here, and the original post is here.

It’s a long weekend here in Canada, but I’ve got a busy one planned with lots of family stuff. Is it a long weekend in other countries, too?
