I’ll be at a Fibre Festival every month for the next three months, and I couldn’t be more excited! After so few shows for the last couple of years, it’s nice to see them coming back, including some new ones. As I live in Toronto, these are the ones I chose to apply for (or got invited) based on how far I was willing to travel and my availability. There are definitely other great festivals happening that just didn’t work for my schedule this spring, but hopefully another time! Here are the next three shows that you won’t want to miss:

Arts & Sweaters: April 22, Toronto, Ontario
Buy tickets here- $7.50 before the event, $10 at the door
Arts & Sweaters is a one-day event this Saturday that showcases the best of Toronto’s local fibre arts scene, and this is the first event! Started by Kim of Indigodragonfly fame after the announcement that the big Toronto Knitters Frolic wasn’t happening this year, she put together a boutique event centrally located in Toronto – accessibility-friendly, and public transit-friendly. This show is a must-attend for anyone who loves all things woolly, as it features vendors offering a wide variety of yarn, project bags, ceramics, embroidery kits and supplies, unique notions, and books focused on yarn, wool, and patterns. Tickets are time for entry, and there will be a lounge to sit and craft with others. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have a fun day in Toronto and pick up some unique fibre finds.

Knit City Montreal: May 20-21, Montreal, Quebec
Buy tickets here: Day Pass ($15) or Weekend Pass ($25)
This two-day festival features a wide variety of vendors from across North America, selling everything from luxury yarns to handcrafted needles, and (of course) embroidery things by me! In addition to the shopping, Knit City Montreal also offers an impressive lineup of workshops and talks, where you can learn from some of the biggest names in the industry. This is the perfect opportunity to indulge in your passion for all things fibre and take your skills to the next level. Talk about a nice weekend, right? See the workshop info here, complete vendor list here.

Kawartha Yarn & Fibre Festival: June 10th, Fenlon Falls, Ontario
Buy tickets here – 10am and 10:30 am timed tickets are already sold out, but 11 am and later tickets are available here for $6
This one-day event takes place in the picturesque town of Fenlon Falls and features loads of vendors (like me!), including local farmers and dyers. In addition to the wonderful market, the festival also offers a series of workshops and demonstrations, where you can learn new techniques and meet other fibre enthusiasts. The Kawartha Yarn & Fibre Festival is a wonderful way to spend a day exploring the beauty of rural Ontario and indulging in your love of all things fibre.
Whether you’re a seasoned fibre festival-goer or a newbie, these three shows offer something for everyone. From shopping to workshops, demonstrations to socializing, there’s no better way to connect with the fibre arts community, squish a lot of yarn, and discover new treasures for your crafting. I hope to see you out there!
