This is bizarrely simple, but can really influence how much you wear your final knitted result (and applies to all sorts of store-bought wardrobe items, too!) Two questions to refine your personal style.
Are you a worrier? Here are three tips to worry less.
Andrea over at This Knitted Life has a round up of the pros and cons of all the online stitch dictionaries– a great resource!
Apparently Zappos has a customer service mandate that pretty much restores your faith in customer service. This was a sweet, funny experiment in misusing Zappos!
My Favourite Pins This Week

Have you guys had the amazing combination that is avocado and chocolate? If you haven’t tried it before, I know it sounds strange but it is utterly incredible. Â This dark chocolate and avocado mouse is 8 ingredients chucked into a food processor, and then chilled in bowls. How easy is that? The avocado is undetectable in the recipe, but leads a really buttery, creamy texture to the mouse. And of course, then you are getting all the goodness of avocado, so you might as well have another helping, right? Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

These chicken fajita lunch bowls are perfect for work day lunches or busy weekday dinners. Just look at the gorgeous colours, and it’s full of flavour. This is definitely one to try, and when you make a big batch, you’ve got lunches (or more dinners) for the week ahead! It keeps in the fridge for up to 4 days. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

How beautiful are these popsicles? They are made by layering smoothies, so they are as good for you as they are gorgeous. Â And each layer is a new flavour! Pinterest link is here, and the original how to post is here. You were going to dust off your popsicle molds this weekend anyway, weren’t you?

It’s been a while since I’ve seen an adorable pom pom craft, but I love these alphabet pom poms. Wouldn’t they be so fun to spell out words for banners, or someone’s name, or even just for kids to play with. They don’t look easy, but for the right person this would be totally worth it. Pinterest link is here, and the original DIY post is here.

This is a wonderful 2- minute video on how to draw a rose. This is part of a 30 day challenge for the month of May of drawing a different flower each day. A fun idea if you are looking to improve your skills! Pinterest link is here, and the original post is here.
My cold from last weekend had me down for 4 days, which was no fun! I’m at that gross-but-functional stage now. The weather is getting warmer, and I’m looking forward to a weekend i the sunshine! What about you guys, what are you up to?

Ha, ha, I knew you liked these pompoms: I have yet to try them but they look amazing. And what about these psychedelic popsicles ! Love all your links, especially the Zappos story. North Americans really are so good with customer service, I’m bracing myself for the poor one typical of France. I know some things have changed, but somehow I don’t expect smiles and humor from most services and companies. My week-end: need to pack for my pre-move trip. Enjoy your week-end. Temperatures are supposed to drop by Sunday in Montreal, perfect weather to pack (must not forget knitting). Cheers.
So much good stuff in this post! I laughed out loud at the Zappo’s link, but honestly think that I learnt a valuable lesson about customer service. I’m super intrigued but the 2 questions to ask yourself about your wardrobe, I’m still mulling that one over, I’m pretty sure I go for drape, but can’t figure out the matt vs. shiny one… And I’m definitely trying that avocado chocolate mousse! Thanks for the great links and I hope you have a happy and healthy weekend!
Smoothie popsicles?! What has the world come to – and why has it taken so long! 😀 I recently tried to make slushies (similar to the kind one would get from the Sonic fast-food restaurants) because of a Lifehacker post that said using club soda would get you the right kind of crushed ice bits. Turns out, making regular ice cubes and trying to break them up into little bits is not the same as putting them in a blender xD I’ve been faffing with that quite a lot this week, trying juice and club soda in the freezer, then managing to forget about it overnight once…it’s been adventuresome but not at all giving me the results I want, ha!
Oh no! Feel better! When mom goes down with a cold, nothing good comes of it. Thank you for the link love. ..off I go to dust off my Popsicle molds.
Did you see a doc? Those pom poms look hard to make. I was confused w/the A one. PInned the drawing video. My girls would like to look at that. Glad you’re feeling better. Take it easy still. I ran around today to two craft stores armed with their % off purchase coupons and picked up some ingredients at TJ’s. Making sausage pasta salad with ranch dressing tonight for dindin.
Oh my gosh, that Zappo’s story was hilarious! The wardrobe questions were interesting too-I definitely go for drape, but while most of my favorite clothes are definitely matte, I have a hard time passing up glitter and sequins-but maybe “shiny” is different than “blingy” 🙂
I hope you’re feeling better soon!
Those pompoms are adorable and the popsicles?
Totally making them this weekend!
Avocado and chocolate…mmmh, might have to try that one. Love the pom poms. Hope you feel better soon! I am off to a birthday party tonight, my first free time in 11 days as my husband came back from a trip to Australia this morning…phew, it’s been a bit hard at times!
Ohhh, those popsicles! They look so good. What a gorgeous photograph of them too. Must get myself some molds this summer.
Hope you feel better soon! That wardrobe link was very thought provoking.. I had recently noticed a shift in wardrobe preferences and have been wondering how to go about building a suitable wardrobe. The avocado and chocolate one looks promising (this coming from someone who had tasted too many awful ‘healthy versions’!)… Might get to try it out this weekend!
I’m not afraid to try chocolate and avocado! 🙂
Those popsicles are right up my alley! I love smoothies!
Nailed your links again this week. I have bookmarked three of them!!
Have you found turmeric lemonade? I made a jug last week and kept it in the fridge for a few days. Not for everyone’s taste but I managed. Perhaps good for fighting colds is why I’m mentioning it. 🙂
