Link Love: My Favourite Things This Week

My Favourite Articles This Week

How to stop doomscrolling the news. Honestly, I  needed this for myself. I want to say I don’t know where the week went, but I do- it went to doomscrolling.

I loved this piece on how a book is made.

Why success doesn’t always feel like it.

Why journaling isn’t just just for writers.

My Favourite Links This Week

Shrimp and pesto pasta. I can’t imagine I’d need to say anything more! I don’t know why I don’t have pesto more often, because I absolutely LOVE it. This recipe gets even easier if you have a jar pestop you like (I like all the jar pesto, because I like easy dinners!) but the recipe does include the recipe for the pesto too, if you like it fresh! Find all the recipe details here.

Need to do some baking this weekend just to feel like something in the world is all right? Me too. And  raspberry rolls would be a fun idea. The filling is with frozen raspberries (but you could use fresh if you prefer). Straightforward, and you can totally make these, even if you’ve never baked rolls in your life. Find the recipe and the step by step here.

A gorgeous free knitting pattern for these mittens (and also comes with a fingerless mitt version too- so pretty! Check out the link to see the photos) that would be great for some knitting this week, if you feel like you could use a new cast on. It’s still mitten season for a little bit yet! Find the free pattern on knitty.com here.

This crochet tote bag looks so beautiful, I love the leaf motif at the bottom- so pretty! I love the great, thick leaves, and the handles look comfy, too. You can find the free crochet pattern here.

This faux fur pouf looks so fun to me. I love the construction, and you could stuff it with old pillows or blankets, which is a great way to do something with some of those old, worn out items that you probably weren’t using anyway. There’s some really cute fun fur out there, too! It could work with a few different types of thicker, textured fabric, too. The full tutorial is right over here.

It’s particularly hard to do a round up of things I love this week, when I feel so consumed by what is happening in Ukraine right now, and how it feels like a piece of a larger puzzle that we are only just starting to figure out. But I hope, for you all and for me too, that we take the time to focus on the good in our lives where we are, and feel immense gratitude for what we have. And try to do a bit of good, wherever you are in the world.
