This was a fascinating look at how Fiji is working to now relocate villages that will be wiped out by rising sea levels. If you’ve ever been curious about how on earth that could be accomplished, this is a good read.

Is it just me, or has November been a LOT?! The holiday season shows no signs of ramping down, which makes it perfect for crockpot /slow cooker dinner. This vegetarian chili recipe is perfect for a hearty, healthy dinner that requires very little effort. Plus, excellent leftovers for lunch! Find the recipe here.

If you are craving some holiday cookie baking, or possibly even doing one of those cookie swaps, this would be a great recipe- sandwich cookies are just a bit extra but in all the right ways, don’t you think? Ginger, molasses, a little creamy filling- perfection. Find the recipe right over here.

A lovely free knitting pattern for a light-as-air knit cardigan! Mohair yarn knit on oversized needles mean this is lightweight but still fairly quick, especially if you enjoy fisherman’s rib stitch. Find the free pattern and instructions here.

These DIY doughnut ornaments are so freaking adorable, and would be an awesome weekend crafting project! They are baked with a DIY salt dough recipe in a mini doughnut pan, and then painted for frosting, and the sprinkles are made with polymer clay. So adorable! Find the whole DIY right here.Â

How cute are these little sewn baskets? They would be great for storing seasonal things, and look so good when all in the same fabric. What’s great about this is you can customize to fit your decor entirely- could do a neutral linen if you wanted a really calm look, or do bright prints if you want a bolder look! The pattern and template are free, and you can find it here.
I hope that your November has been lovely, and full of good stuff! I recently took on a short term project faciliating a knitting workshop for absolute beginners as part of a Newcomer project, and it’s been really great so far. Also about to launch a NEW embroidery hoop- a long overdue one, that had a lot of drama in the fabric printing, but will be ready to launch just in time for holiday shipping next week! I hope you are all doing really well, and keeping cozy.

The talking to strangers thing is interesting. I don’t do it much left to my own devices, but my husband always makes small talk or whatever with cashiers, baristas, drivers, etc., and it is generally pretty pleasant. And in those kinds of contexts, I don’t mind it. But honestly, I’m just not interested in talking to people while I’m commuting. People are exhausting, and I’m probably going to have to interact with some of them when I get wherever I’m going (or I’m coming back from having done so), so I really value and protect that transit time. Heck, I used to sometimes pretend I didn’t see people I did know if they got on the bus with me if I wasn’t feeling up to extra interaction on my way to or from work. But perhaps I should make more of an effort when I’m shopping or whatever.
