Whoa, how is it almost the end of the week? That long weekend really messed with my ability to keep track of time and suddenly, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night I realized that I needed to get posting! I did get some FO photos on the long weekend of the cowl that I’m working on in this video and previously blogged about here, but I need to go through them all. A quick glance at some of the photos made me realize I desperately need a haircut, I’m not looking my best these days. But Lila was very happy and  involved– there will be an outtakes post, for sure!
At about 8:15 p.m., after both the kids were put to bed, I popped out my front door to photograph this beautiful yarn from Biscotte Yarns:

That is Biscotte Yarns Griffon, an Aran weight yarn in Gris Gris (grey) and Farfadet (green), with an awesome combination from both resulting in the self striping skein in the middle. Guys, this yarn is so freaking soft and squishy, I just want to rub it against my cheek all day. Not pictured: my pajama pants and t-shirt, which is seriously how I stepped outside my front door. But I looked both ways first to make sure none of my neighbours were out. Then I plucked some little flowers off my flower planters, put them onto the yarn because flowers and yarn are a wonderful combo, and stealthily took some photos before scampering back inside.
Let’s get a closer look at the squishy softness, shall we?

This beautiful yarn is destined to become an R&R Hoodie for baby James. I’m thinking I might do stripes, or possibly a speckled fade effect between colours, like this one. I need to do some swatching!
Also- isn’t it awesome to be able to take a photo outside after 8 p.m. and it’s still daylight?

i agree with you on the awesomeness of being able to take photos at 8PM. I sometimes do not have time on the weekend, and it’s much less stressful to know you have this option. As for the yarn, oh, the squishiness!!!! It will look lovely as an R&R hoodie!
So excited to see this become a gradient R&R Hoodie! That’s going to be also awesome.
Your description of taking your photos had me laughing… I totally relate. That is going to be one gorgeous hoodie!
OH Man Julie! You have to STOP showing me all of this gorgeous yarn that I just HAVE TO HAVE!!!
The colors and the delightful squishiness of this are really doing it for me…
And YES… I LOVE being able to pop outside at 8pm to take a picture in the daylight :-)))
Ohhhh this is beautiful! For grey, I normally gravitate towards yellow with it, but this green! Just as bright as a yellow would be and ahh just so great! And especially that skein in the middle with the colors together! It even *looks* squishy! 😀
Such beautiful yarn!! And it is so nice to be outside in the later evenings now – spring/summer weather makes me so happy, though the downside is that it doesn’t always make me want to knit, even with the lacey stuff; the birds and trees and all the green is so distracting for me (in the best of ways though). My neighbors have gotten to know just about every pair of pajamas I wear. 🙂
beautiful yarns! and yarn + flowers = you can’t go wrong 🙂
Pajama pants are my standard wardrobe. Yoga pants if I am trying to leave the house. Wink.
Nice yarn, btw.
This is the most brilliant combination ever. I wanted to knit two little cardigans anyway and know I kow exactly what kind of yarn I’ll try. So many beautiful combinations. I think I’ll either knit a gramps or a r&r hoodie with it.
One of the sweaters is for a little boy who is always hot so I’ll knit him a stripey playdate with self striping sock yarn and solid pockets. I just ordered the yarn. Thx so much for the inspiration 😉
It just looks so squishy, and the colours will be perfect for a baby sweater. Can’t wait to see it. These are the best days for taking pictures outside in the morning or evening, let’s make the most of it.
I can’t wait to see baby James wearing it 🙂
That green is so beautiful. Just stunning. Such saturation from one skein of yarn in unbelievable. And kudos for going braving the neighbors 🙂
Wow! That yarn does look incredibly soft and I love the colours! We are enjoying the longer daylight very much on this side too. It is a bit confusing to my body clock but it is a nice change! Also, lucky girl that both your kids are asleep by 8.15!… If we’re lucky L will be asleep by 9. We had quite a lot of problem with his sleeping and the current situation is actually already an improvement! Anyway, looking forward to seeing the yarn knitted up!
These definitely do look luscious and I just love the floral presentation!
Oh, what a stunning yarn! Love the colors – they just scream spring!!
