Modification Monday: Nordililou

Patterns: Nordiska and Lilou

Knitter Extraordinaire: Nyarzelia (Ravelry Profile)

Mods: Nyarzelia combined The sweater design of Nordiska and the colourwork charts of Lilou for a new take on tehd esgin. Details can be found on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome:  When you love a colourwork chart, isn’t fun to think of how to work it into other knits? I love Nyarzelia’s mod of Nordiska to work in the Lilou colourwork chart- Nordiska is a great choice for a pattern that allow you to play with colourwork charts, big or small. The trick for substituting colourwork charts? looking for a chart repeat that is similar in size and stitch count to the original colourwork. As both designs have larger repeats that are similar in size, it requires less math to get the repeat to work with the design- you might even get lucky and have it work out perfectly.

Worth trying, don’t you think?

You pick the best patterns, Julie. The v-neck is just what I’m looking for and the colors are scrumptious.

‘Tis indeed a lovely sweater. Thanks for all your Monday Modification columns.

Just a thought; as a ‘professional blogger’, have you ever thought of running a Spellcheck before you push ‘publish’? Some of us still notice, and care!

      Hi Sharon,

Well, it is just a band of one, and I do run spellcheck before publishing posts – other than ‘modof’ (typo), what is spelled incorrectly? I’m sorry that it is affecting your enjoyment, I will try harder!
