Modification Monday: Pink Hour

Patterns: Blue Hour Sweater and Colors for a Cloudy Day

Knitter Extraordinaire: krumel (Ravelry Profile)

Mods: Combined the details of the Blue Hour Sweater for the top of the dress and the cloudy day, lengthened the body and added the curved hem of Colors on a Cloudy Day, without the colours. Details can be found on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome: Every time I see a modification that turns a sweater into a dress, I’m dazzled. A whole dress! Modified! This is a gorgeous example, with the top of Blue Hour Sweater, adjusted to be short sleeved.  The curve of the hem of Colors for a Cloudy Day gives a little detail at the hem by showing a tiny bit more knee of one leg, which looks so cute and more playful than a straight hem.  I love how this looks, and is such a fun idea to play around with details at the hem of a sweater dress in a subtle way. Plus, doesn’t this dress look so easy to wear? Like you could throw it on any time, and you’re perfectly dressed for work or the weekend.

It’s really pretty, but then a knitted dress always looks good on a tiny figure like her.

Yeah. Not for me. Cute, though.
