Modification Monday: Understated

Original Patterns: Understated, with Beeswax

Knitter Extraordinaire: Shannon (Ravelry Profile)

Mods: Added the honeycomb textured stitch from Beeswax to the bottom of the Understated pullover. Shannon also adjusted the neckline, and made great notes on her modifications on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome: So many amazing things to love about this sweater- I love the smaller sizing, the deeper ribbing and shallower v-neck, and OF COURSE the gorgeous honeycomb texture stitch on the lower half of the body. What a fantastic way to combine two patterns that you love! What makes this work is that the honeycomb design is graphic, visually interesting, and flows beautifully from the ribbing of the hem. This looks so wonderful, and is a great idea for a stitch design that features cables or travelling stitches. Time to bust out those stitch dictionaries!

I’ve made the beeswax hat and I love it, with plans to make the cowl too. This is a gorgeous mod!
