I love Instagram challenges, and I’m excited to be co-hosting one with Melissa from Miso Crafty Knits. We’ve put together a totally doable (meaning: short) Instagram challenge, with some fun prompts that I hope you are going to love.

 What is an Instagram Challenge, you might ask?  An Instagram challenge is a series of daily prompts for a set number of days. The prompts are meant to inspire you to engage in the world around you a little differently, and take a photo to share on your Instagram account. There is no ‘right’ way to interpret a prompt, they are meant to be a little bit vague so that you can interpret them any way you like!
Why you totally want to do this: For starters, it’s really fun to see all the different ways people can translate the same word or phrase with a photograph. when you click on the #CraftyBlissChallenge hashtag, you automatically go to a feed that shows all the photos tagged with that special hashtag- so you’ll be able to check out all kinds of interesting and awesome photos from other knitters and crafters. You will probably even find some new people to follow who regularly post photos that you really enjoy.
How to participate: For starters, you’ll need an Instagram account (which is free). Then for 10 days (from September 18-27th) you just take a photo or share one via your Instagram account and tag it with our special hashtag- #CraftyBlissChallenge. Â DOn’t forget- if your account s set to private, we can’t see your images- so maybe, if you are feeling ever so kind, you could adjust them to public for just the duration of the challenge- then we can heart your beautiful challenge photos!

I hope some of them already have your mind buzzing, thinking up things that you could share and tag! Melissa and I will be on it every day, checking out all the photos with the hashtag, and sharing our own. Plus, for those of you who post for all 10 days, two lucky (and randomly selected) participants will win some knitterly goodies! As if sharing all the pretty wasn’t enough motivation, right? Have any of you participated in an Instagram challenge before?

In other social media news, I’ll be trying out a live Periscope broadcast tonight (not sure what time yet, but probably around 8 p.m. EDT) and be talking about knitting books from my personal collection. My periscope handle is knittedblissjc. Once it’s completed it’s available for 24 hours to view, so I’ll be sure to post about it again tomorrow!

This sounds fun! I have done month long photo challenges in the past, and by the third week it’s always a thought of “I’m not really sure what else to do” or “I already had to use that subject for that, so *now* what do I do” or “is this over alreadyyyyy” (lolz). But a ten day challenge – that’s a time frame I can be excited about! Can’t wait! And, of course, also can’t wait to scroll through that hashtag! 😀

I love a good IG challenge! The ones I’ve done in the past were for ootds and were a lot fun. I look forward to doing this one as well! I already have a couple ideas in mind now. 🙂

Love the prompts and the short 10 day commitment. I usually start slacking off a photo challenge around the second week so this is perfect!
