Modification Monday: Amortentia Cowl

Original Pattern: Unleaving

Knitter Extraordinaire: Kessa (Ravelry ID,  blog

Mods:  Changed the original scarf pattern to a cowl, and added the lace edging to both sides. More details can be found on her project page,  here

What Makes This Awesome: I love how luxurious this looks when done up in a cowl with the lace on both sides- so feminine and pretty. The extra-wide central panel helps add to the luxury factor, and looks wonderful draped around the neck or the shoulders. Looking at how beautiful Kessa’s version is makes me think of all the options you could do with this- how different lace edgings and a different stitch for the center can give entirely different looks. A great mod like this has me looking at scarf patterns in a new light, that’s for sure!

This is so pretty and luxurious-looking! it looks like a pretty accessory to be worn with on a special night out, or to simply perk up a very casual outfit – I love accessories that can do that. :-)

That’s such a beautiful cowl! So elegant. Funny story–I clicked on the link to her project page so I could add it to my favorites and once I was there I saw that I’d already faved it! Haha.

This looks like something you would pay a small fortune for at a boutique. I love her yarn choice as well. There is something majestic about the finished item.

It’s really gorgeous! I love it in that peach color, too.
