This dinner has been a huge hit for my family – I substitute the edamame for broccoli, and even the kids love it! The rice is also totally optional, but definitely gives the meal more heft. James (5 years old!) declares this his favourite. Recipe can be found here.

This is that magical time of summer when both blueberries AND peaches are in season and at their peak, so this really easy cake truly makes the most of them! Not a lot of ingredients, and I think the Greek yogurt in the dish really lends a richness to the dessert. Plus all this fruit, it’s practically healthy! Maybe even – dare I say- a breakfast cake?! I won’t judge if you eat this cake for breakfast, or any other time of day. Find the recipe right over here.

So- are you ready for the easiest and most fun cocktail ever? Raspberry champagne floats, for when you feel like celebrating but also want something easy and a bit whimsical. It’s basically a ball of raspberry sherbet in a glass of sparkling wine. So easy! So fun! so delicious! That’s basically the whole recipe, but the original link is right here, and I think you’ll suddenly find all sort of reasons to celebrate.

Looking to sew a little something for this hot weather? Here’s a beautiful and free sewing pattern for a camisole with adjustable straps! Perfect for that one yard of pretty fabric you have kicking around and have no idea what to make with it. Find the whole pattern and tutorial over here.

Okay, if you love oysters, or know someone who does, this one is for you! The next time you are having oysters (I’ve only ever had them in a restaurant, but apparently some intrepid souls have them at home) ask for a bag to take the shells home and whip up this pretty craft. These little trinket dishes are a lovely way to play around with decoupage or paints, and would be perfect for rings, earrings, or small change. Maybe even fun to do with kids! I’m sure you could also achieve similar results with clam shells found at the beach, too! Find the full tutorial right here.

You know, after my initial freak out over the loss of Pinterest’s all pins, I was so happy to see all the responses about how you hardly ever use the Pinterest links, and prefer the original sources! I appreciate you taking the time to let me know how you use the links, it was truly helpful is a) calming me down, and b) in streamlining the process for writing these posts. Thank you all for chiming in! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

That article about Amazon destroying products reminded me of my work days at a California Macys in the 70’s. I worked in all departments but once in giftware there was a beautiful crystal vase that had the teeniest chip and the manager took a hammer and broke the entire vase into the trash. I was shocked but that seems to be retail then and now.

I’m all for the original website link…let’s honor the creator.
Pinterest is great for gathering your eye candy…too bad they got rid of the sorting by date…sometimes it’s the only way to find something on your own page.
Thanks for keeping the blog alive! Helps my world keep getting bigger.
