Against chill – why being chill about everything leads to people walking all over you.

This is the most Toronto news story I’ve read in a long time – “Raccoons bust into Toronto woman’s home, stare her down while defiantly eating her bread

This rainbow string art is spectacular.

My Favourite Pins This Week

I love recipes that  maximize protein and veg but basically taste like some deliciously cheesy snack, and these zucchini and quinoa fritters tick all the right boxes for me. I especially like that you could have the cooked quinoa (or rice, it works with rice too) in advance and then just pull it out of the fridge and make the fritters that much faster! Pinterest link is here, and the full recipe is right over here.

Now that it’s officially fall, I’m excited for maple everything, especially cookies! These maple shortbread cookies are simple to make, and of course look even cuter when in maple leaf shapes. The recipe calls for maple sugar instead of maple syrup, but I think if you add a bit more flour and add enough maple syrup to the same quantity of white sugar, it would be pretty amazing. Pinterest link is here, and the recipe can be found here.

Speaking of seasonal flavours, did you know you can dye thing with cranberries and it yields a soft, pretty rose hue? You can! Here’s a great guide on dyeing with cranberries – Pinterest link is here, and the full tutorial is right here.

I love this idea for DIY marble hexagon serving trays- party season is coming up fast, and these are a beautiful (and relatively inexpensive) idea for a gorgeous way to display food. Pinterest link is here, and the full DIY is here.

This post is about ten plants for your workspace, but I think it applies to anywhere that needs a bit of greenery but doesn’t necessarily have optimal growing conditions. And we all need more plants in our life, right? Nature makes us happy! Pinterest link is here, and the full guide is here.

Have a gorgeous weekend, everyone! What are you up to? Anything seasonal?

Oh wow, that string art is stunning! I’d never thought of dyeing with cranberries before, but that is such a gorgeous pink! Thanks for finding that link on office plants- my apartment is FULL of plants, and they bring me so much joy, but my office is in an interior room with no natural light and I desperately need some green in here. I’m going to try a zz plant and see how it does!

Ok I’m obsessed with that cranberry-dyed fluff! I tried dyeing yarn with raspberries once and it turned out a muddy brown, looks like I was using the wrong berry!

For the record, my husband always sleeps on the side nearest the door because he has more need to get up in the night… rofl

Oh, and I just had my mom with me for half of my summer vac – we have spent a lot of time together in the past few years for one reason or another and I can remember the first time we travelled together when I was an adult, yes, it was fun and a big change from childhood travel!
Glad you two had such a good time, it’s worth its weight in gold when the women of a family get on. Until last year we were 5 generations living and only the youngest had male offspring – brilliant!! 😉
