Summer is frequently the time when I declare that I am not cooking dinner. Yet, I have a family and people to feed. And the easiest way to do that when it’s too stinking hot to cook? Boards and platters! I am really obsessed with these for summer- the range of great summer flavours, still making a tasty dip, not turning the stove on to do anything, and everyone happily grazing. What’s great about this is you can customize to whatever you have and the range of fruit, veggies, crackers/bread dips and meat are all up to you! Find all the details for putting this together here.

If you have gone strawberry picking and find yourself with an abundance of strawberries- or possibly they were on sale at the grocery store and you went a little overboard- how about making some strawberry frozen yogurt at home? one pound of strawberries, greek yogurt, and a bit of sweetener are all you need to make this delicious frozen yogurt at home! Find the recipe and instructions over here.

And for more frozen treats, how about a creamsicle slushy? This is made with just 3 ingredients- orange juice, vanilla yogurt, and honey, and would be oh-so-refreshing on a hot day. The recipe is right over here.

I absolutely love this idea- turning a t-shirt into a casual dress! This is a great sewing project for a new-ish sewist or anyone who wants a really quick project. I love this idea, even though I don’t ew that often, I want to give it a try! Find all the instructions here.

I can’t be the only one who ends up with vases and plant pots and thinks, ‘why did I ever pick this colour?’ or more likely, ‘where did this even come from?!’ but now I own it and it’s not my style. But we can paint it! These are pretty bright colours, but imagine them in more muted shades, or all one contrasting colour? So many possibilities, and then everything would coorindiate and look intentional. Not just like plant pots showed up at your house, like mine do. Find the great DIY here.
I hope your July felt longer than mine- my July just blinked right by! How is it August?! Who do I file a complaint with about how fast time is passing?! Sigh. I’ve been working on a lot of new project coming up, that I can’t wait to share- but I can’t just yet!
Wishing you all a gorgeous weekend, my friends.
xo Julie

I might just go make that creamsicle slushy right now!
I also wish summer would last longer, but I already have to make plans for Autumn! At least many of those plans involve knitting 😉
