My Favourite Pins This Week

easy baked greek chicken recipe

One pot greek chicken and rice!! I love a one pot meal, and this is a really easy recipe, but you’ll want to save it for the weekend- it’s still going to be in the oven for almost an hour, which is easy, but maybe not timely enough for a weeknight meal. But oh so delicious! You can add some bell peppers or even some potatoes to increase the veg content. Because you know I am always about increasing the veg content. Find the recipe right over here.

Baked pears with ice cream

So, this recipe- it can be dessert OR breakfast! Delicious baked pears (so autumnal! So seasonal!) with an oat crumble, and then served with ice cream for dessert, or with greek yogurt for breakfast! I love that- or you could have ice cream for breakfast. I won’t tell anyone. I mean, who hasn’t had ice cream in the morning? Affogato, the coffee served with a scoop of ice cream- that’s a whole thing, so clearly ice cream at breakfast can be done. Should be done! Or you can use greek yogurt, that’s also good.  The recipe is right here.

upcycle single socks

Making pumpkins from old socks- I absolutely love this idea, especially for the stray socks that seem to always pop up. And imagine different sizes with kid socks, too! You could make thee as simple or as colourful as you wanted, depending on your sock preferences. And wouldn’t these be cute strung as a garland, or in a little display bowl? Find the tutorial on how to make them here.

How to paint ghosts into vintage paintings

This has been all over tiktok and Instagram reels- ghost painting trend! I think this is a really fun idea for some of the old art that you often find in thrift stores. Basically, you paint little ghosts into the existing scene and hang them up for fun Halloween decor! I love that this is a cool upcycle, and those little ghosts make it seem sort of whimsical, don’t you think? The tutorial for how to do this can be found here.

DIY HAlloween Crafts for adults

Speaking of ghosts and Halloween, I stumbled across these very cool clay ghosts and they look so fun and easy, especially with air dry clay. Check out the tutorial on the site- it looks like a really fun afternoon craft, maybe even to do with friends? You could make a whole little clay ghost display! The instructions are right over here.

I hope that you are having a lovely October! the leaves are fully changing here in Toronto, the weather has finally turned cool, and I’ve got a fun girls weekend coming up that I’m really looking forward to! October feels so busy, but it’s good to make time for a bit of fun. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I feel like the ghost paintings would be extra fun if you got doubles of art you already had, so you could just switch them out for Halloween, and see if anyone even noticed!
