Original Pattern: Down EastÂ
Knitter Extraordinaire: Carol (Ravelry ID)
Mods: Changed the gauge from Bulky weight to aran, knitted a smaller collar to have more warmth at the neck as this sweater was being knit for a donation. Great details on the mods can be found on her project page, here.
What Makes This Awesome: On top of making such a gorgeous sweater for charity, I love how this pattern looks at the smaller gauge and with a more structured neckline. It looks so cozy and perfect for cold weather! The offset cable that is the star of the pattern, and Carol kept the same element of the original design, and I love how it looks in the slightly smaller gauge. The details seem to have that extra pop, don’t you think? And I love the thumb hole details on the longer sleeves, with the turned cuffs. This has got to be the toastiest sweater ever!

This is a lovely sweater, and the narrowed collar means it will be much warmer for winter. And the thumb hole is a very practical detail.
That cable – gorgeous!!
