Modification Monday: Wild Honey Tank

Original Pattern: Framework Bralette

Knitter Extraordinaire: Dianna (Ravelry profile, blog)

Mods: Simplified the design with positive ease and stockinette to turn the negative ease bralette into a cropped tank top. Great details on all her mods can be found on her project page, here.

What Makes This Awesome: This beautiful, summery top is a great example of how you can use a pattern that has a lot of details and strip it back to the simplest elements and have an entirely different look! This also shows that even though a pattern might call for negative ease, you can create entirely different looks by changing some design elements and switching to positive ease instead.

If you have patterns in your collection and think that they aren’t quite what you’d like, or maybe you loved them and would love to knit them again but with some changes, consider how removing the key details might make it look. Or changing the ease. What would it look like if cropped it? So many potential ideas to unlock!

I saw this over on Instagram. Love it. Trying to find just a basic tank has been hard. I like the wider straps : )

I have not seen a project from Dianna that was not beautiful. This is another proof. The perfect summer tank top with a lovely color. Thanks for showcasing this.

It’s funny how one idea triggers and another. This is a wonderful example! Chloe
