My Favourite Pins This Week

Cookie brittle is a thing! Flaky, crumbly and buttery, this is a delicious take on the humble chocolate chip cookie. Plus, I think cutting things into triangles looks like such a pretty idea, and so much more inviting than squares. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Got leftovers? Check out these mashed potato and stuffing leftover pancakes, perfect for combining leftovers into new flavours. Bonus points if you sneak a little flaked turkey into them. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a cocktail in my round ups, but this Brandy Apple cocktail is super easy and delicious, and you could leave out the brandy for an alcohol-free version. A perfect festive beverage for the the season! Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

How pretty is this embroidery? This single ply laceweight yarn with slight tonal variations looks absolutely magnificent as  a detail on these jacket cuffs. Pinterest link is here, and the original post is from Instagram, here.

Have you heard about Hygge, the Danish art of making the most of winter and being super cozy? I highly, highly recommend this post which gives a great overview of the key elements of Hygge, and 20 ideas on how to get your Hygge on this winter. If you find winter dull and dreary, then this approach just might change your mind. Pinterest link is here, and the original post is here. Are you Hygge-ing? If so, tell me what you are doing!
How is it the weekend already?! I feel like I blinked and this whole week just disappeared. This weekend, we are going to put our Christmas tree up, and I’m super excited! We actually haven’t bothered getting a tree for the last 7 years (we’re always out of town for Christmas), Â but now that Lila is older I think it’s time. Coming soon- my mini stocking advent calendar update! Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Cookie brittle? Looks way too good!!! The cats are hilarious, thank you for a laugh 🙂 Yay for a Christmas tree, it’s been awhile since I’ve had one!
Cook brittle is delicious!! And those cats…. they looked less than impressed with their hats. 😉
I love the notion of Hygge and one of my favourite ways to do it is to take my time with your awesome links every week, while I have my Sunday morning coffee!
And when Hygging in the afternoon or evening, cookie brittle and apple cocktails sound perfect.
Oh, those cats. How cute are they?
So true, cocktails and comfort food are a cornerstone of Hygge!
Excited to see the update on the mini stockings! And yay for having a Christmas tree this year. That will be such a treat.
I can honestly say I adored every single link, Julie.
I am with the majority and love the idea of Hygge. I have made it a point to create snuggly peaceful spaces for myself and to treat my bedroom like a luxury. Lighting, candles and loads of pillows and softness.
What are you doing to create Hygge in your home? I would love to hear some of your tips.
That would be a great post, how I’m Hygge-ing at home! You’ve got the wheels turning now…. it’s not that cold here yet, but it’s cold enough that the cozy comforts are oh-so appealing.
Ok I may have to try this cookie brittle. I can substitute white flour for a gluten free flour and my husband is allergic to egg yolk so this is a perfect dessert for someone with his allergies!
Ooh, let me know if the gluten free version taste great! It’s all about finding the perfect gluten free flour though, isn’t it?
LOVE the embroidery. I have some jeans I’ve been meaning to “fix.”
Whenever I see embroidery on clothes like this, I think of a scene from an old indie film Kate Winslet did called Hideous Kinky, where she goes with her two kids and lives in Morocco, I think? And she meets this guy who embroidered flowers on the worn out knee of her daughter’s pants. It was stunning. It was the first time I had seen anyone repair clothing with embroidery!
