Pin ups and Link Love: My Favourite Things This Week

My Favourite Articles and Links This Week

How to stay soft in a world that sees softness as weakness. I wish we honoured that softness in a professional work environment.  And if you are feeling like that softness won’t ever be honoured, then perhaps you need to read these 5 tips for getting through a rough day.

Apparently bright yellow books are increasing in book cover design because it most easily catches your eye when scrolling through Amazon. This article made me wince a bit- I prefer beautiful book covers, not ‘the loudest’.  I do like a colourful spin on a book, though.

Six questions a personal stylist would ask about your wardrobe. These are great for really thinking about what you love best in your wardrobe, and how to get more of that. Rather than having a closet full of clothes and feeling like you have nothing to wear.

I had a laugh over this – 10 Things You’d Never Guess by Looking at my Instagram Photos. I’m positive this is absolutely everyone with an instagram account, including me.

My Favourite Pins This Week

Pin Ups and Link Love: Breakfast Pizza | knittedbliss.com

Stop everything- did you know you can legitimately have pizza for breakfast and have it be a healthy choice? You can! And hey, it’s also a very tasty dinner. I recommend picking up a pre-made pizza crust to make life easier, and if you make the pesto ahead of time, it’s a tasty addition to all kinds of things. Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Popsicle Cookies | knittedbliss.com

How cute are these little popsicle cookies? Even if you think you have no icing skills, these are easy-peasy. You definitely want to use lots of fun colours, though- that’s what makes them so appealing! Pinterest link is here, and the original recipe post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Pineapple Mimosa | knittedbliss.com

Summer is a great time for cocktails outdoors, and I highly recommend the pineapple mimosa, which comes together with 3 ingredients- sparkling wine, pineapple juice, and a lemon lime soda. Voila! Pinterest link here, recipe post is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: Pineapple Bag DIY | knittedbliss.com

I am super in love with this sweet pineapple bag. Here a kid is wearing it, but imagine a bigger version on a grown up- hello, perfect beach bag!! It’s worth seeing how this comes together, even a non-sewer like me thinks this looks pretty easy. Pinterest link is here, and the original DIY is here.

Pin Ups and Link Love: DIY Stamps| knittedbliss.com

If you have ever wanted to carve your own stamps for all sorts of projects, this is a great tutorial on how to do it. Summer feels like the perfect time to experiment with stamping projects, doesn’t it? I love the idea of stamping on some cotton tea towels, or maybe linen napkins. A pineapple theme this week? I have to try that mimosa. Loved the post about softness, I so agree with it. It takes real strength to be soft and compassionate, not the opposite. Anyone can be a jerk, but this is how our world is built, on competition. No wonder so many people are unhappy at work. Have a great week-end, Julie !

I’m loving the links on how to build a smarter, more stylish wardrobe. This week’s tips from a stylist was great. Also, I LOVE that pineapple backpack!

The baked egg pizza looks interesting. I’ve see it around on Pinterest. The pineapple bag is cute and I love those mini Popsicle cookies. I have iced cookies on my bucket list but have been lazy when it comes to baking lately.

    Eeeek, those stamped foxes! 😀
And that Instagram post. The struggle. xD I’ve been off of Instagram for a little over a month now and I’m happy to say life hasn’t ended. There are a few friends I check up on every once in a while, but it’s a quick scoot to their pages, see what’s up, and get out. I have no idea what’s been happening in the Instagram world and it is *lovely* xD
The popsicle cookies are adorable, but we’d be best to not test my icing skills – they are absolutely lacking. My theory is cute food is great, but I don’t have the patience 😛

All wonderful summer projects! The Instagram article is so true, although most social media is like that. Sometimes it’s hard not to compare that perfect moments you see in someones life and compare it to yours. Nice of her to acknowledge that in an article.
