The Instagram #CraftyBlissChallenge Wrap Up!

Some of you might be wondering how the #CraftyBlissChallenge  wrapped up, especially if you aren’t on Instagram yourself! Melissa and I were totally blown away by all the amazing photos, and lots of people participated, which was super fun. I loved scrolling through the hashtag and seeing all the great photos, the interesting interpretations of the prompts, and while I try to keep my Instagram feed from getting to hectic, I couldn’t help but end up following lots of new-to-me people. There were 1000+ photos tagged, and 71 people made it all the way through all 10 days- woohoo! Melissa and I agreed we would each do a random number from the list of those who completed all ten days, and send a little gift to that person as a thank you for participating – @demelomonica was my lucky winner, and @noodleknits was the winner for Melissa!

Here is a very small sampling of some of the awesome photos shared– and if you’d like to see more, click on the #CraftyBlissChallenge and see all the wonderful photos!

It often felt like we were all at a party, and had this shared thing in common- it was so easy to comment on  other people’s photos, chat about what we were doing and seeing, and interact in a new way. When Melissa and I chatted about it after it had ended, we were so happy with how it turned out! We also liked that she and I were in different time zones, so it felt like it helped us spread out some of the love and not just have it all be active during a certain time of day.

As for myself, it was the first time I ever made it all the way through an Instagram challenge, probably because it was only 10 days rather than the usual 30. These were my contributing photos to the prompts:

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I don’t usually post every day, so it was really interesting to experiment with a daily posting schedule. It felt like a little creative exercise! And the thing with  creative exercise is that it leaves you feeling a bit more alert, a little more interested in the world around you. It was a fun shake up. I think it might be fun to do it again, maybe in the spring! Now that we have the hashtag, we should really make the most of it, don’t you think?

By the way- if you haven’t entered  to win a digital copy of Knit Play Colour, what the heck are you waiting for?!

I also loved seeing different interpretations for each of the prompts. Fun! A springtime challenge would be so awesome! Thanks again :

Yeah, this was good. I find it quite challenging to take pictures every day with a toddler around. I liked the prompts! And trying to find things non-child related, haha
